The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse sleeps 14 people in 12 single beds and one double bed.

The Farmhouse was originally built in the 14th Century and is typical of a medieval hall house with exposed timber beams, oak drop latch doors and solid stone floors. It has a large kitchen with oil fired Aga and a dining table seating in excess of 14 and a living room with large open fireplace. The bedrooms vary in size and are fairly spacious, but simply furnished with comfortable beds and simple storage such as chests of drawers. Some of the original floors are uneven in places and there are also some low wooden beams.

Downstairs

  • Large kitchen/ dining room With an oil-fired AGA which heats hot water. An emersion heater provides additional hot water when required. The Kitchen has a large fridge freezer, microwave and electric hob cooker in addition to the AGA, huge butler sink and is fitted with handmade bespoke wooden cupboards. Cooking and eating materials are plentiful.

  • Sitting room With open fire and 3 sofas. Has a door out to garden and overlooks the pond and lawns. Next to the fireplace is a laundry cupboard where extra blankets can be found.

  • 3 bedrooms 2 with 2 single beds, one single bed, one double bed

  • Shower Room With toilet and washbasin.

Upstairs

  • 4 bedrooms 2 with 3 single beds, 1 with 2 single beds, 1 with 1 bed. 

  • Bathroom with bath, washbasin and toilet.
